Paintings of An American, Primitive

Afternoon Glow

Coral Getty is an artist who survived childhood polio and the Great Depression.

Thrilled by Hollywood glamour as a girl, Coral copied starlet pin-up posters and took her first art lesson from a fashion illustrator.

But it was a forbidden paint set shelved at her grandparents' general store in Kansas that sparked her lifetime passion for painting.

You're welcome to explore this collection of a life's work of original art presented by her family on the occasion of Coral's 80th birthday.
